Kinsol Timber

ARYZE helped found and works in partnership with Kinsol Timber Systems, a specialized construction firm focused on building and conserving important timber and timber hybrid structures across Western Canada.

Branch Coffee

ARYZE helped found and constructed Branch Coffee Company, a high-profile coffee shop located in the heart of the Victoria’s Gonzales neighbourhood. At the core of the Branch is a network of people: baristas practicing their craft, vendors highlighting quality products and locals sharing the hub—which all come together to make the cafe a thriving part of its community.

Matthew Jardine
Co-owner

Matt founded and co-owns ARYZE. A trained artist, Matt has sought to apply his passion for design and form to each project ARYZE has delivered over the past 15 years. With a tenure spanning 17-years construction and management, Matty is our team’s visionary and senior project manager.

Ryan Goodman
Co-owner

Ryan co-owns ARYZE and helps manage the business and development efforts across Victoria.  Ryan has a BA (Economics) from Simon Fraser University and an MBA from the University of Victoria.  Along with land acquisition and development, Ryan oversees ARYZE’s construction management systems, business strategies, and works alongside Matty to support customers throughout the construction process.

Julia Schenck
Creative Director

Julia leads a unique and integrated approach to interior design at ARYZE. On joining our team from Stantec, Julia brought 10-years of experience coordinating with clients, architects, engineers, contractors and planners in residential and commercial environments. Julia has a BA (Applied Design – Interior Design Major) from Kwantlen and a Project Management Certificate from Royal Roads.

Elyce Henry
Controller

Elyce controls finances and manages costs across our business platforms. She joined ARYZE after completing a Bachelor of Commerce from Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary. With a deep understanding of accounting and urban studies, Elyce runs a tight ship as the head of finance at ARYZE.

Vinit Jain
Operations Manager

Known around the office as “The Boss”, Vinit brings a steady hand and a depth of knowledge in construction and operations management. Having previously worked with global IT solutions provider Tata Consulting, Vinit is responsible for construction system development and improving business processes at ARYZE.

Rachel Parry
Accountant

A pro in numbers! Rachel joined us with a BA in Management and Organizational and is currently pursuing a CPA designation to strengthen her mastery.

Ryan Malone
Project Manager

Ryan holds Commerce Degree from Royal Roads University, a Project Management Certificate from UBC, and a project management professional (PMP) designation.  He’s also a LEED accredited professional.  Prior to joining ARYZE, Ryan was a Project Manager with Natural Balance in Vancouver, where he lead construction of high-end custom homes by some of our provinces leading architects.

Blair Ketcheson
Project Manager

With over 20-years-experience building finely crafted homes on Vancouver’s west side, British Columbia’s Gulf Islands and in Victoria, Blair has an intuitive attention to detail, project management and construction sensibility. He has traveled around the world with his family and brings a broad understanding of fine art, architecture, engineering and craftsmanship to each new home.

Jackson Leidenfrost
Project Manager

Jackson is highly skilled Red Seal journeyman carpenter and site superintendent. He joined ARYZE with 8-years of progressive construction experience starting with a 4-year apprenticeship at one of British Columbia’s premier custom-home builders, Calrudd Construction. Jackson is a natural leader who brings energy, fairness, and integrity to each interaction with sub-trades, customers and the ARYZE team.

Joshua Lalonde
Project Manager

Josh has over 15 years of experience in the construction industry with extensive experience managing large, complex residential and commercial renovations. Josh began his career as a Red Seal journeyman carpenter and evolved into project management. He has managed projects in Victoria, Toronto and the Caribbean.

JP Markes
Project Manager

With a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Victoria, JP brings a high level of precision to his building practice and a technical understanding of construction planning and strategy. JP’s passion for eco building fits perfectly into ARYZE’s charge for healthy and sustainable construction.

Chi-Ling Cheng
Project Manager

Chi-Ling joins us with a background in real estate development, architecture and design. Chi-Ling is a go-getter who leads projects from conceptual design through to construction.

Kurt Filan
Construction Manager

Kurt brings a wealth of knowledge to our front line. Working alongside our project managers, Kurt reviews and coordinates our day to day construction. As a Red Seal Carpenter, he passionately continues to build the ARYZE apprenticeship program. He finds enjoyment in motivating the team on a daily basis to build more efficiently and sustainably for a healthier future. When not sporting his steel toed boots, he can be found chasing chickens and growing vegetables with his wife and daughter around their Saanich farm.

Miguel Gagnon
Site Supervisor

Miguel is a highly skilled Journeyman carpenter with 15 years experience in a variety of construction environments including concrete forming, framing, roofing, and interior finishing. Miguel usually has the best parking spot on site for a good reason – he’s the always the first person there.

Tyler Cust
Site Supervisor

Tyler is a journeyman carpenter with a truly broad understanding of construction. Tyler brings a wide range of experience in forming, framing, interior finishing, and project management. He is often the last man onsite, diligently making sure everything has been taken care of.

Ryan Gagnon
Foreman

A ticketed journeyman carpenter with over 18,000 registered hours experience and a BSc Degree in construction management, Ryan brings tremendous depth to our construction team. Ryan works to oversee crews, organize workloads, and schedule activity onsite to ensure construction continues with the pedal firmly down. In his spare time, Ryan is working on a Master’s Degree in Global Development.

Kyle Dunkley
Foreman

Kyle completed his apprenticeship at Camson College and is a 17 year seasoned veteran of carpentry who truly has a passion for the craft. Ensuring a safety culture surrounds him as he continues to learn all aspects of building and construction. When not onsite, Kyle can be found exploring Vancouver Island with his wife and two children.

Rob Garant
Apprentice Carpenter

Coming from 10 years of experience in industrial sales and management, Rob brings a team-first mentality while always planning ahead. A keen learner and apprentice carpenter who will bring professionalism to our job sites.

John Bidlake
Carpenter

With 12 years experience in the industry, John has been involved in many aspects of carpentry. John had the opportunity to work in Australia and New Zealand, furthering his skills and learning different building practices. He joins us with experience ranging from bascule bridge construction, exterior finishing, concrete to crown moulding!

Mike Farley
Apprentice Carpenter

Mike brings a wide breadth of knowledge with 10 years experience in trades such as plumbing, structural iron work and historical restorations.  When not working with the crew you can find Mike behind the handle bars of his bicycle or waist deep in a river with a fish on the line, sometimes.

Sam Gane
Safety Officer

Sam’s thirst for knowledge, kindness and attention to detail makes him a valuable addition to the team. Having worked as a paramedic with BC Ambulance Service for five years, prior to joining us, Sam brings his passion for health and safety to every worksite.

Conor Gilhooly
Carpentry Apprentice

Conor is a carpentry apprentice who joined ARYZE with 3-years-experience in industrial construction in Northern Canada with Ledcor Group. Conor has experience in welding and carpentry.  On the evenings and weekends, he has been developing his craft with fine furniture building.  He also has his Certificate of Business Administration from Okanagan College.  You can recognize him immediately on site as the man who never stops smiling.

Chris Johnson
Apprentice Carpenter

Chris is a keen learner with a positive attitude. A 2nd year carpentry apprentice with experience in painting and framing, he enjoys almost any task thrown his way. If there’s any heavy lifting needed, Chris is the guy.

Carter Laird
Construction Safety Officer

Carter joined us fresh out of high school and shares his health and safety expertise with the team. You may see him on the streets of Victoria in our delivery truck with the windows down and a big smile on his face. Now also a first year appreciate eager to master his craft.
