When the new owners decided to revitalize a dated Tofino resort built in the 1970s, they invited Aryze to transform the space into a contemporary hotel with a relaxed West Coast vibe.
Boasting the picturesque views of Strawberry Island and Tofino Inlet, this waterfront property has undergone a full renovation of over 39,000 sqft of its built area.
In addition to rebuilding and updating 62 hotel rooms, our team worked on the staff accommodations, marina building and the docks while overseeing the creative direction of the project.
To protect the resort from inclement West Coast weather and the iconic Tofino storm season, the building envelope was rainscreened and replaced with natural materials engineered to age and patina in harsh environments.
As the exposed wood naturally ages over the harsh winter months, the lush natural environment began to provide a stunning backdrop for the main resort building.
Biophilla Design Collective reinvigorated resort grounds by complementing the natural building materials with vibrant flora and creative landscaping elements.
Highlighting the beauty of the coastal nature, the photo wallpapers from the local artist Jeremy Koreski bring the outdoors inside.
The rooms' simple contemporary interiors create an oasis, where you can rest between the outdoor adventures and the rich culinary experiences.
